Paramount Theatre | Seattle, Washington
World-renowned theatrical sensation Blue Man Group comes to Paramount Theatre Seattle on Friday 6th November 2020 with the Speechless Tour! Bald, blue and beyond fascinating, Blue Man Group draw together moments of physical comedy and absurdity alongside art, music and social commentary to create a highly entertaining show that's a feast for the senses!
“It’s Blue Man Group’s continued commitment to push boundaries, and think bigger and bolder with every new exploration, that excites me most about this opportunity, and I’m thrilled to join the Blue Man Group family to undertake this new show,” said Jenny Koons, Director of the Blue Man Group Speechless Tour. “Speechless will feature material that fosters communal moments, debut the evolution of our tube-based instruments to support all new music, and include large-scale audience participation. It is my hope that this show will deliver on its name and continue Blue Man Group’s legacy to transcend words and inspire audiences through non-verbal connections.”
An American performance art company, Blue Man Group formed in 1987 when its original members (Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton, and Chris Wink ) met at an underground production of French symbolist writer Alfred Jarry’s absurdist theatre piece Ubu Roi. Known for the visual uniform of blue-painted skin, skullcaps, and black clothing, the group performs in threes and its shows combine physical theatre, physical comedy, music, stunts, and audience participation to create theatrical productions. The original Blue Man Group trio has since expanded to a cast of seven to nine full-time Blue Men who perform continuing shows in Berlin, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York City, and Orlando, as well as touring internationally. Over the years, Blue Man group has appeared on various TV programs as both characters and performers, as well as releasing multiple studio albums, and contributing to several film scores.
