Damian Darlington, founder of the Australian Pink Floyd Show and now Brit Floyd, started listening to Pink Floyd age 13, and first saw the band perform live in 1987. Fascinated by the storytelling and connection between songs present on concept albums such as The Wall, he started playing guitar and learning Pink Floyd songs, an admiration that would later grow into a tribute band.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show were held in very high regard, but after playing with them for 19 years Darlington left to create something even better; in particular, with regards to the cinematic elements of Pink Floyd’s original live performances, as well as the music. Comparing the two, he said; “If you’ve seen the Australian show, you’ll notice a difference in a big way — a difference for the better, we make the extra effort to re-create as much as we can and it’s not just the songs: It’s the visuals, as well.”
