Comedian, actor, writer, producer and director Chris Rock first gained popularity in the 1990s working as a stand-up comic and appearing in small film roles, before becoming a cast member of Saturday Night Live. Later, Rock went on to star in bigger budget films such as Down to Earth (2001), Head of State (2003), the Madagascar film series (2005–2012), Grown Ups (2010), its sequel Grown Ups 2 (2013) and Top Five (2014), as well as a host of popular comedy specials for HBO. From 2005-2009, Rock developed, wrote, and narrated the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. Two-time host of the Academy Awards (the 77th in 2005 and the 88th in 2016), Rock has won four Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards.
