Sigur Rós: World Tour 2022 at Paramount Theatre Seattle

At the tour announcement, Sigur Rós bandmates, Jónsi, Georg and Kjartan, stated. “The three of us are also in the process of writing and recording the first new Sigur Rós studio album since 2013’s Kveikur. We will play new songs at the shows, alongside material drawn from the last 24 years or so. We’ll update you on the release of the new album soon.”

In October 2022, Sigur Rós’s third full-length album, ( ), will turn 20. First released in October 2002, the album comprises eight untitled tracks, divided into two parts separated by a 36-second silence, the first four tracks are lighter and more optimistic, while the latter four are bleaker and more melancholic. Lead singer Jónsi sang the album entirely in "Hopelandic", a made-up language consisting of gibberish words. ( ), reached number 51 on the Billboard 200, with Pitchfork placing it 29th on its list of the fifty best albums of 2002, and 135th on its list of the top 200 albums of the 2000s. A music video for the first track, "Untitled #1", was released in April 2003, directed by Floria Sigismondi, and was given the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Video.

Sigur Rós are an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, consisting of lead singer and guitarist Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, bassist Georg Holm and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson.
