American comedian and Emmy Award winning actress Tiffany Haddish began her career in the 2000s, appearing as a guest star on several television series, inclduing That's So Raven, My Name Is Earl, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Just Jordan, In the Motherhood, Def Comedy Jam and New Girl. In 2013, she had a recurring role on Real Husbands of Hollywood, before being cast the following year in the Oprah Winfrey Network series If Loving You Is Wrong. After one season with If Loving You Is Wrong, she landed a recurring role as Nekeisha, the semi-estranged wife of Bobby Carmichael, on the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show, where she stayed for three seasons. Haddish made her film debut in Keanu (2016), but it was 2017's Girls Trip that was Haddish's breakout role. She starred alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall in the comedy film, which was a box office hit, and a role that earned Haddish several awards. Later that year, Haddish released her debut comedy special on Showtime, and became the first black female stand-up comedian to host Saturday Night Live, as well as releasing her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn, which debuted at number 15 on The New York Times best-seller list. In 2018, she was was included on Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
