Trevor Noah at Paramount Theatre Seattle

Born under apartheid in South Africa to a mother of black and Xhosa ethnicity and a father of white and Swiss German ethnicity, race unsurprisingly played a hugely important part in Trevor Noah’s life while growing up, growing in him the desire to speak out about it. He found he was able to express himself through performance, initially via acting, and eventually comedy. At the age of 18, he had a starring role on the South African soap opera Isidingo, and went on to host his own radio show, entitled “Noah's Ark”, on YFM, a local youth radio station. As he made the switch to comedy, he performed alongside multiple prominent South African comedians including Kagiso Lediga and Riaad Moosa, before opening for Gabriel Iglesias and Russell Peters.

After hosting several more shows, he eventually became the host of The Daily Show, which is how he is best-known today. With his sharp, yet heartfelt take on the the current political state of affairs, race, and religion, his is a show that is thoroughly worth seeing in person. What are you waiting for?
