Fall in love with Laufey’s hopelessly romantic music this Tuesday, April 9, at the Paramount Theatre! Targeting over twenty new cities across the US and Canada, the Icelandic-Chinese singer extends her Bewitched: The Goddess Tour in support of the eponymous album, which garnered widespread acclaim upon its release last September. This Billboard number-one Jazz record features Laufey’s inaugural Gold single, “From the Start,” and was nominated at the forthcoming GRAMMY Awards. Since her girlhood days, classical multi-instrumentalist Laufey had dreamed of a world where jazz is the sound of blushing hearts and blossoming romances. In 2021, she self-published her first EP, Typical of Me, with its rendition of “I Wish You Love” earning praise from Rolling Stone magazine. A year later, she debuted her first studio album, Everything I Know About Love, claiming the #3 spot in Billboard Jazz, showcasing hit singles “Dear Soulmate” and “Beautiful Stranger.” Get your tickets now and watch Laufey perform on the historic stage of the Paramount Theatre!

After a grand entrance in Vancouver the day before, Laufey’s highly anticipated Bewitched: The Goddess Tour will land a spellbinding April 9th jazz concert at the Paramount Theatre! This sensational live event is one link from a chain of over 20 performances promoting the artist’s newest album in the United States and Canada, which itself is an extension of the tour’s initial European engagement.

Meet Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir — classical multi-instrumentalist, hopeless romantic, and next-generation jazz icon. Originally a cello concert soloist, this 24-year-old musician has performed alongside the prestigious Iceland Symphony Orchestra prior to pursuing her dreams as a singer-songwriter. She has competed in both Iceland’s versions of Got Talent and The Voice, finishing as finalist and semi-finalist, respectively.

In 2021, Laufey released her first EP, a Billboard #2 Jazz album titled Typical Me. It featured seven soothingly nostalgic tracks, including the Icelandic radio hit "Street by Street" and a transformatively inspired cover of “I Wish You Love,” which earned special applause from Rolling Stone. A year later, she debuted her first full-length record, Everything I Know About Love, to the #3 spot on the US Jazz chart. The album met immediate critical success, aptly noted for its sensuously orchestrated stories of youthful affection such as “Dear Soulmate,” “Beautiful Stranger,” and “Dance With You Tonight.”

Laufey’s latest album, Bewitched, plowed right through the ceilings of US charts, peaking at #23 on the Billboard 200, #5 on Independent Albums, and #1 on Jazz. Universally acclaimed for its impeccable technique and throwback instrumentation, the record featured 14 tracks (see below) that immaculately blend the singer’s crystalline voice with delightfully swooning lyrics. It was also nominated at the 66th GRAMMY Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, marking Laufey’s first major music accolade.

“The reason why the album’s called Bewitched is because I thought it’s such a perfect word [describing] the feeling of being in love but almost feeling like you have no control over it – like someone’s cast a spell on you or you’ve been hexed,” the artist shared in an interview.
