The Lion King at Paramount Theatre Seattle

The Lion King tells the story of the struggles of the young Lion Prince Simba, who prematurely has no choice but to accept his fate of becoming the leader of the Pride Lands due to the tragedy that befalls his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a beloved King by all of the Pride Lands, suffers betrayal from from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which leads to his death. This forces the lion cub into to escape for years, and where his long journey and his subsequent return to The Pride Lands and his destined rule as King.

Based off the late 1994 movie of the the very same title created by Disney, The Lion King was accurately translated to the theater medium by director Julie Taymor and the stunning ensemble and production crew. Its premiere in 1997 was a fresh addition to theater, being a multi-awarded debut.
