Sam Harris' biography states that he is a philosopher, neuroscientist, and author! Even before some of the podcast appearances that gave him a newfound fame with the current generation, he was one of the most-read authors on the topics of personal development and even criticism of religion and faith. That's a mouthful, but perhaps the easy way to describe Sam Harris is that he's a true influencer. His speeches and appearances on podcasts provoke all sorts of thoughts in the public, which is exactly the type of reaction that he's looking for!
His new tour is called Truth & Consequences, and he will stop at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle on Wednesday, September 10th. If you enjoy a pleasant conversation and a speaker who may challenge your current way of thinking, this is going to be an interesting evening for you. You don't necessarily have to agree with everything that Sam Harris preaches, but be open to receiving the food for thought he's offering. Click the "Buy Tickets" button now for a seat to see Sam Harris live!
The format that Sam Harris is following for this Truth and Consequences tour is a really interesting one, and it certainly enriches the event. In fact, if you're not a massive fan of Sam Harris and you feel you've got something to say, it's a great opportunity to do that. The way Sam handles these shows is that he'll get up there and give what's mostly a rehearsed speech. In a sense, these serve as his bullet points of the topics that he's going to cover on Wednesday, September 10th, in Seattle. Once he's "done" with that part of the lecture, he'll open the floor for questions, and what he's really trying to provoke is a dialogue on current cultural and even political issues.
There are a ton of elements that are going to make this Seattle stop interesting. Without a doubt, one of the topics on the table will be immigration. By the time Sam Harris arrives in town, hopefully, a lot of the current tensions will have subsided, but the region will be living in a post-ICE raid era that might still leave scars. One of the biggest protests against the current climate of civil unrest happened here in Seattle. That's not just a one-off; a lot of people in the region are not afraid to voice their opinions. That's an aspect that can make this event more powerful. Plus, they sell really good coffee here at the Paramount. This is one of those events that you want to be really awake for, and a nice cup of local brew can really help!
Being close to the stage could give you a better chance of interacting with Sam Harris. The crew that's probably going to be there, passing out the mic to people who want to speak in the second part of the lecture, will want to get audience members from different rows. If the man makes eye contact with you, though, it could be a way to get your question in. Now, you may just want to enjoy this event as a listener with that cup of coffee we've been overselling. If that's the case, then any spot in the house is good.
If you know you want to be at this event, then don't hesitate to get your tickets soon! This will give you a better chance of finding the spot you actually want.
