MrBallen, or born as Jonathan Bartlett Allen, is an American internet personality and a former Navy SEAL. This year, he is going on a new "Lights Out Live" tour and bringing his world-famous podcast back to the stage. He's famous on YouTube for his true crime stories, mysteries, and unsolved cases that focus on the victims. If you watch his TikTok clips or YouTube videos, you know he's not a mystery when it comes to telling these stories that have you hooked. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, the man's parents were a reporter and editor for The Boston Globe. He's previously shared in an autobiography that his family held high standards of academic achievement as he grew up. After he finished his degree from UMass Amherst, Allen enlisted in the United States Navy, and joined SEAL Team Two in Virginia Beach back in 2012. After a greneade hit Allen in 2014, he retired from the Navy in 2017 due to injury complications and mental health concerns. Now, he's been better as tuned in passion to the deep & dark mysteries that reality holds.
In 2020, he launched his very own YouTube channel, filming true crime and mysteries, later on attracting over ten million subscribers. With an average of 40 million views each month, his suspense storytelling got everyone hooked for more. With segments like "3 Photos with Disturbing Backstories", "Places You Can’t Go and People Who Went There Anyway", and the "Like Button", he's shared tons of bone-chilling tales and gags that fans will never forget. His podcast, "MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories" shot his download records up and reached the top of Spotify's True Crime Podcasts chart in 2022.
In September 2023, he released his newest podcast series, "MrBallen’s Medical Mysteries". Sharing medical horror that's both intriguing and chilling, it features unheard diseases and unexpected recoveries, and on the flipside, unfortunate medical incidents & unexplained deaths.
In addition to sharing these thrilling mysteries, MrBallen created a foundation to help the families and victims of terrible crime. Hoping to make the world a better place, the MrBallen foundation's programs include training, education, and financial help. It's no mystery that he's a good man by heart.
