Been waiting for an amazing night of jazz music by young hearts? Starbucks just unveiled the 29th Annual HOT JAVA COOL JAZZ featuring the Seattle area’s best high school jazz bands once more. While the official lineup is yet to come out, you can expect the best as young talents live out their musical dreams. With ticket proceeds supporting the music programs of participating schools, it’s a jazz night for a good cause. Not only are you bound to enjoy the vibe, but you’re also making dreams possible for these aspiring musicians. 

THE COOL JAZZ EXPERIENCE

Over hot java, experience the finest jazz tunes performed by young talents. Juggling academics and a heart for music, Hot Java Cool Jazz allows these students to share their passion on the big stage while spectators come in support of their schools’ music programs. While the 2026 lineup is yet to be seen, previous shows featured student ensembles like Roosevelt, Mount Si, Edmonds-Woodway, Bothell, and more. 

As jazz music enables young hearts and people to connect over shared passions, Hot Java Cool Jazz helps school programs make it possible for kids to live out these dreams.

“To find a community that was very dedicated to their craft and that shared my dreams and ambitions – I feel like band was one of the first activities where I felt included and that I could contribute to and that I had fun in,” Sky, who plays saxophone for Roosevelt High School shared through an official Starbucks release about last year’s show.

Creating memorable nights not only for audiences, but for these gritty students who are given the chance to showcase their talents, it’s a wholesome experience for families, friends, and the jazz community. With Starbucks having raised over $1 million for high-school jazz programs, this is a continued effort to promote the value of the arts. 

“The arts express things, that if we could express them with words, we would,” Faul of Mountlake Terrace High School shared in an official statement. “But we can’t, and so we sing about it, or play about it, or draw about it, or sculpt about it.”
