Les Miserables at Paramount Theatre Seattle

From the moment of its creation in the 1980s, Les Misérables has transformed from an only-local theater classic produced in Paris to today's longest-running musical in the entire world. Over the past century that the musical has been running, Les Misérables has toured in 22 different languages, in 53 countries, and has been met with applause and standing ovations all over the world.

In April, the musical’s next season is expected to perform in a new location in Seattle, where Les Misérables will be held in Paramount Theatre on Thursday 16th April 2026. Paramount Theatre was purposefully created and constructed as the favorite theater venue of Seattle, housing a spacious arrangement inside the theater that is big enough to hold a musical of this standard, as well as appropriate services that can be found in the theater.

Les Misérables is centered on the tale of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict desperately wanting to start anew after he gets away from parole. Valjean's full story, and the relationships he builds along the way, are performed with everything lyricized from the beginning to the final act of the play. Les Mis being lyricized from beginning to end is a unique characteristic that this show has over other known theater plays, and is the main reason why every moment and act always stuns its viewers, conveying utmost feeling in every phrase or lyric performed.

It's quite unique and as a result of this style, the play is also full of memorable ballads and anthems. Interestingly, even with the large number of songs that can be heard in Les Mis, every role in the play is given their own spotlight, with each discrete ballad given as much emotional depth as the rest. Neither theatergoers nor film viewers of Les Mis can stop thinking about Fantine’s “I Dreamed A Dream”, which carries with the song a deep tragedy and has been covered without end by other icons in contemporary TV. “Bring Him Home” also emotionally moves viewers to tears all the time, subtly showing us the redemption of Jean Valjean’s character in a single totally stunning number.
