Broadway, New York is the foundation of yet another world-class show, Disney’s The Lion King, as it tours another city with the next limited showing to be performed on Wednesday 10th December 2025 in Paramount Theatre, located in Seattle, Washington. The Lion King narrates the tale of growth of a young lion cub named Simba, who is next in line to rule as the King of the Pride Lands following his father. The African safari however is filled with secrecy and internal strife, as even in this innocent and easygoing narrative, misfortune appears when the young lion's father Mufasa is murdered because of the betrayal of his evil uncle Scar, who plans to usurp the throne of these lands. The immature prince is forced to flee from his home and goes into self-imposed banishment that spans years. While away in the forest, he meets new companions, Timon and Pumbaa, who live a worry-free lifestyle and influence him to do the same. the young prince's easygoing lifestyle then suddenly changes when Simba once more encounters his long-time confidant Nala, who encourages him to return to the Pride Lands and requests him to overthrow his abusive uncle.

This incredibly powerful story of loss, unfound courage, and acceptance of duty is intensified by the original film's music, penned by Elton John and Tim Rice. Their original songs, supplemented with added songs and lyrics from big names like Zimmer, Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and director Julie Taymor have improved and elevated the quality of The Lion King not just in the United States, but also in international productions.

The Disney stage adaptation began on July 8, 1997, at the Orpheum theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was received so well by fans and set a standard for contemporary theater, leading to the musical's transfer and reopening on the Broadway stage on October 15, 1997.
