Broadway is the foundation of yet another world-class show, The Lion King, as it continues its successful run with the next limited season to be held on Friday 12th December 2025 in Paramount Theatre, located in Seattle, Washington. With impressive architecture and design found both inside and outside the aforementioned venue, locals have said that Paramount Theatre still is one of their favorite show venues all over the world.

The show narrates the coming-of-age story of a young lion cub called Simba, who is fated by birthright to lead as the King of the Pride Lands succeeding his father. The African safari however is filled with secrecy and internal strife, as even in this often lighthearted plot, tragedy comes when Simba's father and King is murdered due to the intent of his wicked uncle Scar, who plans to usurp the throne of these lands. The fledgling cub chooses to escape the Pride Lands and goes into hiding that spans years. In his time away, he runs into new companions, Timon and Pumbaa, who encourage him to forget his past and live life on his own terms. His happy-go-lucky mindset then suddenly changes when Simba once more encounters his long-time confidant Nala, who shares the plight of the people with him and requests him to overthrow his abusive uncle.

This incredibly powerful story of loss, strong bonds, and acceptance of duty is intensified by the original film's music, written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Their original compositions, coupled with added songs and lyrics from big names like Zimmer, Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and director Julie Taymor have contributed to the immense success of the musical not only in the United States, but also in international productions.

The Disney stage adaptation premiered on July 8, 1997, at the Orpheum theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was an instant box office hit and was praised for its unique execution, ending up to the musical's transfer and premiere on the Broadway stage on October 15, 1997. Now produced for more than two decades since its first showing, be one of the lucky ones to witness the third longest-running production from Broadway, New York as it performs in Washington. Tickets are now available by clicking on the links that can be seen on the top of this website.
