Disney’s The Lion King shares the struggles of the young Lion Prince Simba, who prematurely has no choice but to accept his role of succeeding as the leader of the Pride Lands due to unjust killing of his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a beloved leader by the people of his lands, faces immense jealousy from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which leaves Simba without a father. This forces the young prince into to escape for years, and where his personal change and his sudden return to his land and his destined rule as King.
Based off the original 1994 motion picture of the the very same name created by Disney, The Lion King musical was skillfully transformed to the theater stage by director Julie Taymor and the unforgettable ensemble and crew. Its premiere in 1997 was the first of its kind, being received positively by critics.
