Girl From The North Country at Paramount Theatre Seattle

Written and directed by venerated playwright Conor McPherson and featuring award-winning orchestrations by Simon Hale, Girl From the North Country reimagines twenty iconic songs by the legend himself Bob Dylan in a fresh manner!

The inspiring plot of the musical unwraps in a comfortable lodge in Minnesota in the difficult times of the Great Depression. It's a story that zooms into the lives of the people staying there - guests and long-term residents alike. Everyone carries their own cross and what makes this play special is how it interlaces all these characters' lives.

The theatre show will include everyone’s favorite songs including “Forever Young,” “Like A Rolling Stone” “All Along The Watchtower,” “Slow Train Coming,” and “Hurricane”

An interview with The Marlowe dives into how director Conor McPherson had never directed a musical prior to this mission and found himself revelling in the refreshing experience. He shares that when it comes to a straight production, the dilemma lies in entertaining everyone solely through the script and performance. However, in a musical, there arise instances where someone might advise, “Shall we have a refreshing pause for everyone's benefit?” and you'd positively accept, thinking it sounds quite charming.
